REASEARCH: What is Genre?

GENRE PREFERENCES

Personally my favourite genres are action, Horror and Fantasy and each have elements which i enjoy a lot

Action

This genre is my personal favourite i particularly like the superhero sub-genre and trope of action films.
although the conventions are cliches that its a regular weak character who comes becomes exposed to a chemical substance or joins a group and is used a test subject and becomes a superhero who fights for justice and always has a motive, to avenge someone they love(most likely their parents or a member of their family)  so they fight crime in hopes to avenge them. they come across a villain who is linked with a character they know. and they battle it out and the villain always lose.
There are also anti heroes who work with the  good guys and a protagonist and are often portrayed as misunderstood.
but the genre is filled with guns and violence(and also an element of romance) which I enjoy.

Fantasy

Another of my favourites, fantasy. I love myths and legends and this genre in film brings them to life. for example Greek mythology like Hercules. also old wives tales and childrens books come to life, for example Cinderella and beauty and the beast.

My favourite film in this genre is Harry Potter, a classic children's literature has been brought to life and the story is unfolded in a visual sense. all the legends of mythical creatures like mer-people and dragons and the magic is brought to life.
